If you'd like to see this book published, consider supporting the Kickstarter!
What is a Kickstarter?
Kickstarter is a crowd-funding platform used for creative projects such as book publishing. It is an "all or nothing" platform which means if the goal is not reached in the time allotted, the project is cancelled and no money changes hands. I chose this platform because I wanted to be sure if you chose to support the project, you would be able to see the result of your support in a reasonable time frame. Without the full amount, I can't publish the book. Therefore, raising only some of the funds runs the risk of having the money in limbo while I continue to raise funds meaning it could take years for you to see the result of your support. I didn't feel that was fair to you, my potential backer.
How does it work?
Start by visiting my official project page HERE. The page explains the project, gives a breakdown of how the money will be used and give other important information about the book. Under the Kickstarter platform, the project creator (that's me) offers unique rewards to backers for showing your support! The rewards range from the very simple thank you note to a fun-filled day at the races with me, the author. Also offered is a special, limited edition version of the book, original art painted by Farletta, a tote bag and other fun stuff! You can back the project for any amount, even just $1 will help!
Once you select a reward level for supporting the project, Kickstarter will ask for some information from you, including a credit card (it's secure!) number. If (and only if) the project reaches its full funding goal, your card will be charged for the amount you pledged after August 27, 2014.

Then what?
If the full funding goal is reached, I will use the funds raised to hire an editor, pay for cover art and all publishing costs. Additionally, a portion of the funds (less than 25%) will go to cover taxes, Kickstarter fees, credit card processing fees, and creating/shipping rewards.
If the funding goal is not reached then no money changes hands and the project is not funded and the book is not published. Don't worry though, I won't give up on the project because I truly believe this book has the potential to help others! The timeline to publishing will likely be several years longer though.
